Dr. Timothy French is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. Dr. French holds a BS in chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a MS and PhD in chemistry from Yale University. His undergraduate research looked at how to assess problem-solving ability in introductory physics students, while his doctoral research was on terahertz spectroscopy. Prior to arriving at DePaul, he was a Preceptor in Chemistry and Chemical Biology for four years at Harvard University where he taught an introductory physics sequence with biological and medical applications, experimental physical chemistry, and introductory physical chemistry, as well as the introductory physics class at the Harvard Summer School. He was awarded the Harold T. White Prize for Excellence in Teaching from the Harvard Physics Department in 2009.
