The #1 bestseller for teaching Abnormal Psychology
Now with all digital content in Macmillan Learnings breakthrough platform, Achieve, the landmark new edition of Ron and Jon Comers Fundamentals of Abnormal Psychology surveys the latest developments in the field, including up-to-the-moment research on the psychological impact of COVID-19 pandemic. This is the first introduction to abnormal psychology to examine the growing body of research on the pandemics effects on a range of disorders, immune system functioning, family abuse, the shift towards telemental health, and the disproportionate burden on poor persons, members of minority groups, and others.
This edition also carries forward the Comers trademark approach, balancing coverage of major clinical perspectives with a deep empathy for individuals living with mental disorders. The authors further expand their multicultural perspective, address such topics as the underrepresentation of racial and ethnic groups in clinical research, diagnostic bias, and many more. Finally, the Comers include enhanced coverage of the developmental psychopathology perspective, brain circuitry, and topics related to technology throughout.
With Achieve, our most powerful learning option is also our most affordable and up-to-date. The e-textbook and assessment tools in Achieve reflect updates to the DSM-5-TR, including new coverage of prolonged grief disorder, revised diagnostic criteria, and more.
