CHAPTER OBJECTIVES
Based upon their reading of Chapter 7, students should be able to:
- define measurement and explain its nature and structure.
- understand the four levels of measurement, the differences among these levels, and why these distinctions are important.
- explain why and how data can be transformed from one level to another.
- define measurement errors and identify common sources of said errors.
- define validity, be familiar with the three basic kinds of validity, and be able to distinguish among these types.
- define reliability and be familiar with the methods of assessing it.
