CHAPTER OBJECTIVES
Based upon their reading Chapter 16, students should be able to:
- understand the concept of relationship between two variables.
- understand the principle of covariation and construct a bivariate table.
- explain the notion of proportional reduction in prediction error as a measure of the relationship between variables.
- calculate and interpret the various measures of association that are discussed in the chapter.
- identify which measures of association are appropriate for given levels of measurement.
