In the Text
Streamlined chapters
A focus of this edition has been to update and revise the content across chapters, making the presentation more concise in some chapters, and revising the approach and structure in others. New examples have been added and others have been highlighted to be more visible.

Design
The text has moved to a larger trim size, allowing more dynamic presentation of figures, photos, and other features. Together with the extensive chapter revisions, the text is leaner and more manageable (and approximately 200 pages shorter than the previous edition).

Revamped Table of Content

The new edition includes some significant structural changes.

  • Part III: Voting and Social Choice has been reduced from four chapters to three, with the removal of Chapter 10: The Manipulability of Voting Systems and distribution of key topics in that chapter to other chapters in this part.
  • Part V: The Digital Revolution has been removed from the student text and is now available as a custom chapter.
