Primary Sources and Source Based Quizzing
Every primary sources feature in the textbook and companion reader includes a multiple-choice quiz that instructors can assign for a score to encourage student reading. By assigning the reading and quizzes ahead of time, instructors can ensure that students come to class better prepared for discussion and lectures.
Maps and Map Quizzes
Each chapter includes a multiple-choice Map Quiz that helps history students deepen their understanding of the content and build skills of geographic literacy. All maps from the textbook are provided in chapter-based PowerPoint files that instructors can download and use for presentations or custom assignments.
History Tutorials
The Bedford Tutorials for History are brief reading assignments that address topics like plagiarism, working with primary sources, and organizing and delivering class presentations. Each Tutorial includes an optional multiple-choice quiz that instructors can assign for a score to encourage student reading.
Reflections Activities
Reflections Activities invite students to reflect on what they have read in each chapter and to comment on what was most interesting or challenging and also to rate their confidence in their comprehension of the material.
